School Holiday Writing Group

Have sentences got your child in a swirl? Is grammar making them giddy? Do they have wonderful ideas but struggle to get these onto the page? Then Gameplan can help!

Our specially trained Speech Language Pathologists will guide your child through a series of super fun and engaging activities to help bring joy to writing tasks at school.

Our sessions vary each time depending on need, but some of the areas we target are: sentences and fragments, different sentence types, expanding sentences, developing sentence complexity, editing, narrative structure, paragraph writing in persuasive texts, planning, organisation/structure, coherence/sequencing, identifying and correcting run-on sentences, using transition words/phrases in paragraphs and more!

Our sessions are evidence-based, individualised and help put the “right” back in writing!

We can accommodate both handwritten and typed writing approaches. BYO Laptop should participant prefer to type.

Location: in person, at Gameplan.

Age range: Grade 4 to Year 10

Group: Maximum 4 children per group, according to age and areas of focus. Fully individualised for each student.

Time commitment: 10-11.15am. Mon 22 to Thu 25 Jan 2024 (4x sessions of 75mins)

Cost: $795 (NDIS and Health Rebates Available)

Pre-assessment: writing samples to be provided two weeks prior to sessions starting.

Post-program: Short report provided with personalised recommendations
