Andy, who loves IT, Star Wars and footy, is in Grade 5 at a primary school in North Fitzroy. Andy was diagnosed with Severe Language Disorder in Grade 2 and he also experienced difficulties with reading and writing. Andy was unable to manage the challenges of his curriculum independently and was working significantly below grade level across all subjects.

An individual learning plan was created for Andy, with progress measured each term. Andy also worked with a Speech Language Pathologist at Gameplan to address his language, reading and writing difficulties. Andy is now working at Grade 5 level, can manage aspects of his curriculum independently and is more confident in interactions with peers.

He is currently working with a Speech Language Pathologist to begin preparing him for the curriculum demands of secondary school in comprehension and written expression.
